In this type of Draw Poker the game is played with five cards. The first round of betting can only be started by a player who has a hand made up of a Pair of Jacks or better. A player can be declared as the winner only if he has a hand that contains a Three of a Kind or better. In the case of none of the players being able to start off the round of betting or if none of the players are able to come out the winner of the game, then in that case every player has to ante again and the cards are dealt again by the player who sits on the left side of dealer.
A very different kind of version to this game which is rather interesting was brought about by Dave Meichsner. If a player gives up and throws in his cards at any time while playing the game, he will be forced to stay out of the game till such a time that the game is completed and a player wins and is declared the winner. In the case of the game being dealt again due to none of the players being able to initiate the betting with a Jack or none of the players being able to win with Trips, the player who resigned from the game is not allowed to be re dealt into the game. This is a good method of ensuring that people stay in the game.
Jacks and Back :-
In the case of no player being able to start the game with the initial bet due to none of them holding a pair of Jacks or higher, then the game is conducted as Lowball, whereby a draw and a last round of betting is carried out. A not so popular variation of this game is one in which the rule says that during the first hand, if nobody hold a pair of Jacks or higher, then the game is dealt again as Queens or Better, Trips to Win. If none of them have a Queen or higher then the game changes to Kings or Better, Trips to Win, then Aces.
