Prephia is a game of five card stud poker whereby participants place four cards in the face up position and one card in the face down position. The card which is in the face down position is considered to be a wild card and every card like it is a wild card too. For example, if the down card is a five, then all the fives in that players hand are wild cards.
The game of Prephia is carried out as a high/low game. The high hand divides the pot with the most favourable low hand.
How to play Prephia Poker has been discussed below:
1. The ante must be taken from each and every participant.
2. Start the game by handing a single card in the face down position to each participant.
3. A card, in the face up position should be dealt to the participant sitting on the left hand side of the person playing. The participant should be provided with a choice of getting either that card in the face up position or taking a card from the deck, in the face down position.
4. Take a short break in the case of the participant picking a card which faces down out of the deck. This participant will be holding tow cards which face in the down position and has to make a decision regarding which one he will flip to the face up position. A lot rests on this choice as it determines that participant’s wild card.
5. Begin a wagering round once all the players have received a second card.
6. In the same way, card number three, four and five should be dealt, and each participant should be given the option to pick from a card that is in the open or from a card that faces down.
7. The last round of wagering should be completed.
8. Each participant must announce either that they are playing high or playing low by discreetly putting one chip (in the case o low) or two chips (in the case of high) in their hand.
9. On the count of three, every participant must expose his hand, letting everyone see each others high or low decision.
10. Decide which participants have won and divide the pot, giving half to the low hand and the other half to the high hand.
