Roulette: Inside Bets

An inside bet in Roulette terms means a bet or wager that is carried out on the inner location of the Roulette table. This area is commonly called the number grid. In this case the Roulette table will have a mandatory minimum bet requirement that players must follow. If for example a Roulette table says it has a $10 minimum, this means that a player can make10 bets of $1 each on different numbers on the Roulette table. The concept is, the player has to make a total of $10 in bets. The player may also bet only $10 on one number.

The types of inside bets are:

Straight Up
This is a bet placed on just one number. The player must put the chip squarely on the centre of the square with the number on it.

Split
A split bet is carried out when a player places his chip on two numbers which adjoin each other. The chip is positioned on the line separating these two numbers. The line could be vertical or horizontal.

Street
A street bet is one which is bet on three numbers which are all on one straight horizontal line. The chip is positioned on the end of number line which can be on the left or on the right. This depends on the layout.

Corner
This is also known as square. It is a bet on four numbers which form a layout in the shape of a square. The chip is positioned on the line which is the intersection created by the horizontal and vertical line and is placed in the middle of all four numbers.

Six Line
A six line bet is placed on two streets which adjoin each other. The chip is positioned at the point where the two streets correspond, just the way two street bets would be placed by a player.

Trio
A Trio bet is one which is positioned at the point of intersection in the middle of 0, 1 and 2, or 00, 2 and 3.
