Rules for Caribbean Stud

Caribbean Stud is a type of poker game that cane be played online. At first glance the game seems to be a difficult one to understand but in reality it is fairly simple to play. The game begins with the player giving their ante and also making their $1 progressive side bets if they want to.

Once the ante is offered, each player is dealt five cards which are placed face down. The dealer deals himself five cards as well, although in his case four of the cards are face down and one is face up. The players can view their respective cards but cannot disclose their cards to any of their fellow players. After this the player must make a decision regarding upping the ante and playing ahead or folding. As far as making decisions go in the game of Caribbean Stud, this is the only one that players have to think about.

If a player decides on the second option and folds, he lands up forfeiting his cards, ante wager as well as any bets made by him on the side while he was playing his hand. If the player decides to play ahead because he believes he has a decent hand, he has to place a bet known as a raising bet. This raising bet must be two times the first ante amount. Once this is done, the dealer flips the cards over so that every one of the five cards can be viewed by all the players. At this stage of the game it is necessary for the dealer to have at least an Ace and a King for the game to carry on. As per Caribbean Stud rules, the lowest hand that a dealer can be in possession of in order to qualify for playing ahead is 2, 3, 4, Ace and King.
