Fourth Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker

LEOCOP or the Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker took off over the weekend for the fourth time. The tournament has $500,000 in money, added to the prize pools of 16 tournaments, culminating in a $250,000 added Main Event on November 9th which has a $1,100 buy-in.

The tournament started on Sunday afternoon and had a price tag of $165 in the beginning. The event provided 2,000 chips to players and rebuys worth $75 with various add-ons, at the start. Towards the end of the first day’s play, Hefaistos was declared champion and he got $34,973 as winnings. AKOLAS finished as runner-up and pocketed $22,360. The other winners receiving large sums were, slim_boy (third place for $14,673), snowjoke (fourth place for $10,481), hitmandan (fifth place for $7,686), slikparky (sixth place for $6,288), 31337scl (seventh place for $4,891), ICEJOHNSON (eighth place for $3,493), liisak (ninth place for $2,445), and MisterVogt (tenth place for $1,746).

The rebuy amount on Monday was an affordable $50. This made sure that the excitement surrounding the tournament did not reduce in anyway. MrHanky111 emerged as the winner on the second day. The other finishers in the top ten were helsead (second place for $10,808), Wallyayay (third place for $7,092), davorsuker (fourth place for $5,066), jkhp (fifth place for $3,715), Roxity (sixth place for $3,039), CALLIFUDARE (seventh place for $2,364), Inoriisss (eighth place for $1,688), mugger (ninth place for $1,182), and Juicem (tenth place for $844.37).

Ladbrokes added $10,000 more to the prize pool in cash. Edward Ihre, MD of Ladbrokes poker spoke about the attendance and schedule of LEOCOP; he said that the number of players participating in the tournament from countries across Europe was very gratifying. He also said that the 2008 LEOCOP has had great first three days.
