UK Gambling Commission Publishes Beginner’s Guide

The Gambling Commission of UK recently published a Beginner’s Guide that laying down the parameters a player needs to take into consideration before he or she begins gambling.

The guide is called ‘What to look out for When Gambling Online.’ It’s a leaflet which is not more than four pages, and is freely available on the regulator’s site at GamblingCommission.gov.uk. It offers some useful advice like players need to find out whether the gambling operator has a licence from a reputed regulator.

“A gambling company that is not regulated may not be fair or safe to gamble with,” is one of the guidelines mentioned in the guide. It also stresses on the importance of checking from where various gambling products are regulated. This is because, a number of companies fall under various jurisdictions and the products on these sites may also be under varied jurisdictions.

The Commission also emphasises the importance of players looking for clear and valid contact details of companies providing online gambling before they start playing. The Commission also advises the players to be acquainted with the complaint procedures, in case of any problems.
